Royal Park Community Consortium.
The campaign to save the much loved Royal Park Primary School building for community use continues. The campaign began in 2004 when the school was closed down by Education Leeds, despite fierce opposition from the community. Since then numerous community groups have contacted the council attempting to be influence decisions about the use of the building.
The Royal Park Community Consortium would like to ensure the building is reopened and used for community benefit as soon as possible. At present they are exploring a number of options ranging from negotiations with the council and private developers to submitting their own bid for running the building.
The group hold regular meetings and welcome anyone who is interested in the Royal Park Primary building to get involved with this campaign.
Oblong has supported this project in organising public meetings, preparing campaign materials, research and developing negotiations between the group and the council. Oblong has also provided meeting space and access to photocopying facilities.
